Welcome to the Audiology Department

Family Practice Clinic of Dothan has been providing healthcare services to patients for over thirty years. Throughout this time, we have seen several patients with hearing loss. We understand the impact hearing loss can have on your quality of life. Listening to music, talking with family and friends, and watching television; all of these can become difficult or almost impossible with hearing loss. In March 2005, we added a full service Audiology department to better serve our patients. We are one of the first family medical practices in the southeast to
incorporate hearing healthcare within our clinic.

Our Audiology department is staffed with a full time audiologist, Jamie B. Shumaker, Au.D., CCC-A. We now offer free hearing screenings for all of our patients. If your hearing screening suggests hearing loss, a more comprehensive evaluation will be recommended and can be completed at our office. Additionally, if hearing aids are appropriate, Dr. Shumaker will assist you with the selection process and help you make an informed decision about your hearing.
